Ca’del Bosco Wine List

Ca’del  Bosco is the leading brand of sparkling wines that bear the name of the zone where they’re made: Franciacorta.

The enviable position has been reached thanks to the passion of Maurizio Zanella, who, in the early 1970s, set out to persue his passion, and consequently played a leading role in Italy’s wine renaissance by transforming a house in the woods into a cutting-edge winery.

This is the essence of a love for wine and the experience of thirty years, every day in the vineyard and cellar, in search of the sublime seduction of the palate.

Chardonnay Curtefranca Bianco D.O.C (Grapes: 100% Chardonnay)

£81.50

Chardonnay, a white grape of French origin, is the most famous of the international. Brightly hued, intensely scented, underscored with a hint of vanilla and a characteristic note of hazelnut. Its taste is full and rotund and its organoleptic structure is so intense as to be comparable to a red, yet it lingers in your senses for its extraordinary finesse.

Sebino Rosso Careener IGT (Grapes: 100% Carmènere)

£77.00

Its history is wryly depicted on the label by a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Carmènere is a grape originating in Bordeaux, long confused with Cabernet Franc. Carmenero is distinctive for its very deep, dark color, potent, spicy aroma and full, rich, unusual taste.

Maurizio Zanella Sebino Rosso IGT

Wine embodying a perfect blend of a territory and its style. A great wine, surely among the jewels contributing to the Italian wine renaissance. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc selected from the winery’s finest vineyards, skillfully vinified and refined in small oak barrels guarantee a rock-solid wine, potent yet harmonious, able to mature for years.

CA’ DEL BOSCO – FRANCIACORTA

Champagne, and…Franciacorta? Most lovers of classic method sparkling wine are familiar with the famed first in the list, but few know of Franciacorta, Italy’s best-kept secret from the Lombardy region of northern Italy. Like Champagne, Franciacorta achieves its elegant effervescence thanks to secondary fermentation in the bottle—the “classic method”—and is limited to a specific geographic territory. Granted, Franciacorta is to Champagne what David is to Goliath. The French region boasts production power that is almost 20 times larger than Franciacorta. “In just 50 years we have reached a standard of quality that no one else in the world has been able to achieve” says Maurizio Zanella, of the Ca’ del Bosco winery and president of the Consorzio per la Tutela del Franciacorta: “Our acreage is not huge, so the task at hand is to maximize what we have.”
